My husband used to be in Spain to supervise MSc students in engineering geology as they do their fieldwork. Spain is ideal because of those fantastic rock outcrops which geology students can measure and make their case studies on. On top of that, reasonably-priced accommodations can be found on those resorts along the coasts not so far from Barcelona.
I decided to join my husband for a holiday in Spain right after he concluded his fieldwork. We decided to explore Catalonia, headed to the Pyrenees and stayed for a night in Andorra. Our first stop was in Tortosa, a city located on the mouth of the Ebro river. It was in Tortosa where I had my first taste of Spanish holiday indulgence as my husband booked for us to stay at the Parador Tortosa.
What a lovely place! Imagine being in a fortification dating back to the 10th century and stay there as a guest in one of its well-furnished guest rooms. Dine at the wonderful restaurant which features lovely authentic Spanish dishes and wake up to the aroma of those delicious Spanish breakfast treats from churros to hams and cheeses that go with assortment of freshly-baked breads. From the parador's grounds, have a commanding view of the city and watch the world go by at night while listening to the chirping of crickets. Certainly, we had a grand time and would love to repeat the experience either in Tortosa or at the other Spanish paradors. Rates are not that far from regular hotels but paradors provide its guests with more grasps of history and the charm of those forgotten yesteryears.

I like your picture with the flowers. You complement each other. Beautiful.
